Every AC brand in Pakistan tells you their product is the best. But the honest opinion of a technician who repairs all of them, every day, in Lahore’s extreme heat — that is harder to find.
We service ACs from every major brand sold in Pakistan. Here is our genuine, experience-based assessment of the most popular brands in 2026 — based on how often they break down, what parts cost, how easy they are to service, and how long they last in Lahore conditions.
Gree
Gree is consistently the most popular AC brand among our customers in Lahore, and for good reason. Their inverter models offer excellent cooling efficiency, the compressors are reliable, and their PCBs hold up reasonably well against Lahore’s voltage fluctuations when a good voltage stabiliser is used.
Parts availability in Lahore is the best of any brand — every spare part is available in Hafeez Centre and other markets within hours. Repair costs are therefore lower than most other brands.
Our experience: Gree inverter ACs serviced annually and protected with a good stabiliser are among the longest-lasting units we see in Lahore. Common weak point is the PCB on older models.
Recommendation: Strong choice for most Lahore homes. Go for inverter models in the U-Crown or Fairy series for best efficiency.
Haier
Haier is Pakistan’s second most common brand and has improved significantly in recent years. Their newer inverter models are energy-efficient and cooling performance is good. Haier’s after-sales service network in Lahore is strong.
Our experience: Haier ACs tend to be slightly more sensitive to dust and require more frequent coil cleaning in Lahore’s environment. Their drain trays on some models are smaller than ideal, making drainage blockages more frequent. PCB failures are also slightly more common in Haier than Gree in our experience.
Recommendation: A solid choice, especially if after-sales warranty support matters to you. Get it serviced every 3 months during summer rather than every 4.
Dawlance
Dawlance (now owned by Arcelik/Beko) is a Pakistani brand with a long history. Their non-inverter models are affordable and straightforward to repair. Their newer inverter models have improved but still lag behind Gree and Haier in overall reliability in our experience.
Our experience: Dawlance ACs are the easiest to repair in Lahore — parts are cheap, widely available, and the units are mechanically straightforward. For a spare bedroom or guest room that is used occasionally, a Dawlance non-inverter is perfectly adequate.
Recommendation: Good budget option for rooms used less than 6 hours per day. For heavy daily use, invest in Gree or Haier.
Orient
Orient has grown significantly in market share in Lahore over the past 3 years. Their T3 inverter models have good cooling capacity and competitive pricing. Build quality is decent.
Our experience: Orient ACs are relatively newer to the inverter market and we have seen some PCB reliability issues in the first 2 to 3 years of ownership. Spare parts availability is improving but not yet at the level of Gree or Haier. Their warranty service is generally responsive.
Recommendation: A reasonable choice if the price is significantly lower than Gree. Make sure you use a good voltage stabiliser.
Mitsubishi (imported)
Mitsubishi Electric ACs (imported, not the Pakistan-assembled version) are in a different category entirely. These are built to a higher standard, use better components, and are quieter than any Pakistani-market brand. Compressors on Mitsubishi units routinely last 12 to 15 years.
Our experience: When Mitsubishi ACs do have problems, parts are expensive and sometimes need to be ordered — which means longer repair times. The upfront cost is 2 to 3 times that of a Gree. But for a primary bedroom or a room that runs 14+ hours a day, the long-term value is there.
Recommendation: For those with budget and a room in heavy daily use, Mitsubishi is genuinely the best AC we service. For everyone else, Gree inverter is the practical choice.
Kenwood and PEL
Kenwood and PEL are popular in certain Lahore markets due to competitive pricing. In our honest experience, both brands show higher failure rates in inverter models compared to Gree and Haier. Parts are available but PCB failures are more frequent.
Recommendation: Acceptable for light use. Not recommended for rooms running 10+ hours daily.
What brand do we install most at Xpert AC Service?
When our customers ask us what to buy, we typically recommend Gree for the balance of price, reliability, parts availability, and long-term performance in Lahore conditions. For budget-conscious customers with light-use rooms, Dawlance non-inverter is our honest second recommendation.
The brand matters less than the installation quality
One important point: the best AC brand installed poorly will cause problems within 2 years. A mid-range brand installed correctly with quality copper pipe, proper flare connections, and correct gas pressure will outperform a premium brand with a poor installation.
